CELEBRATION FOR ILFORD RURAL FIRE BRIGADE ON 80TH ANNIVERSARY

NSW Rural Fire Service (NSW RFS) members gathered over the weekend to celebrate the 80th anniversary of the Ilford Rural Fire Brigade and honoured the long-standing dedication and commitment to protecting the community by its members.
Member for Bathurst Paul Toole and NSW RFS Regional Coordinator Inspector David Curry congratulated members past and present for building the brigade into the community institution it is today.
“This Brigade has such a proud history of community service and spirit,” Mr Toole said.

$2.95 MILLION FUNDING BOOST FOR VERTO

The region’s most vulnerable tenants and homeowners will receive greater support thanks to a boost to NSW Government funding for programs which offer vital education, advice and advocacy services.
Member for Bathurst Paul Toole said the Bathurst-based Verto will continue to provide these vital services over the next three years following community grants totalling $2.95 million from the NSW Government.

NEW RECRUITS READY TO HIT THE BEAT

Bathurst MP Paul Toole today joined the Commander of the Chifley Police District, Supt Paul McDonald, to welcome four new Probationary Constables to the region.
The new recruits will be based out of the Chifley Police District and were the stars at a special morning tea to mark this important occasion.
Bathurst MP Paul Toole said the safety and security of the community continues to be the NSW Government’s highest priority, with the four new local police officers hitting the beat following an attestation ceremony in Goulburn last week.

LOLLIPOP SUPERVISORS A SWEET BOOST FOR BUSH

Bathurst Public School is one of 19 regional schools to see a safety boost, with recruitment to commence soon for a new school crossing supervisor at George Street.
Member for Bathurst Paul Toole said it was a win for the local school community.
“Lollipop men and women are so important in helping keep our youngest road users safe,” Mr Toole said.
“School zones are one of the safest areas of the NSW road network, with not a single child pedestrian fatality in an active school zone since 2013.
