FRENZY OF ACTIVITY WITH MAJOR UPGRADES UNDERWAY AT TONY LUCHETTI SPORTSGROUND

WHEN next year’s footy seasons rolls around the players from Lithgow Workies will be greeted by brand new changing rooms at Tony Luchetti Sportsground.

There’s been a frenzy of activity going on at the local sporting venue as local tradies carry out the upgrades as part of the NSW Government’s $1.8 million COVID-19 stimulus package.

Member for Bathurst Paul Toole said funding of more than $180,000 was made available to Lithgow City Council for the work to upgrade changing rooms and meeting room facilities.

UPGRADES UNDERWAY AT HERITAGE-LISTED WALLERAWANG RAILWAY STATION

Restoration work to upgrade the historic Wallerawang Railway Station sandstone façade is underway thanks to nearly $30,000 in funding from the NSW Government.

The upgrades will see repairs done to the gutters and downpipes, repointing the sandstone brickwork to rectify the rising damp issues, replacement of the ceiling and painting to the stairwell.

Bathurst MP Paul Toole said that the work is needed to preserve the State Heritage-listed site and is being carried out with great care.

GOOD NEWS FOR MILLTHORPE BOWLING CLUB

Member for Bathurst Paul Toole has delivered some exciting news for the Millthorpe Bowling Club.

Mr Toole today announced the club would receive a Stronger Country Communities Fund (SCCF) grant of $64,100 to give its bowling greens a much-needed makeover.

Club manager Julie Denzel and greenkeeper Peter Mullins agreed the announcement was perfectly timed as the work could be carried now there’s warmer weather across the region.

RACHEL NICOLL NAMED IN 2020 HIDDEN TREASURES HONOUR ROLL

Member for Bathurst Paul Toole has congratulated Hampton’s Rachel Nicoll on being included in the Hidden Treasures Honour Roll for 2020.

An employee at Lithgow City Council, Mr Toole said that for someone so young, Rachel’s list of achievements are inspiring.

“The Hidden Treasures Honour Roll celebrates women volunteers who give so much to their rural communities,” Mr Toole said.
