NSW FLAG FLYING PROUDLY AT WALLERAWANG

A new NSW flag is set to be flying proudly at the Wallerawang War Memorial.

Bathurst MP Paul Toole presented the flag from the NSW Government to local War Memorial committee member Danny Whitty OAM last week.

“The old flag had lasted two and a half years after we received it from Mr Toole in May 2017,” Mr Whitt said.

“However, it had become tattered and torn due to the harsh local climatic conditions and the fact that it flies 24/7.”

KEEPING FIT – WITH HELP FROM THE NSW GOVERNMENT

Keeping fit is set to take on an added dimension following the installation of exercise equipment and water stations at Lions Berry Park and Cousens Park.

Bathurst MP Paul Toole a State Government grant of $100,000 for the project was made available to Bathurst Regional Council thanks to its successful application under the Stronger Country Communities Fund.

“The parks are located close to each other on the banks of the Macquarie River in Bathurst and are linked to popular footpaths and cycleways,” Mr Toole said.

$1 MILLION FOR LAKE ROWLANDS WATER SECURITY STUDIES

The NSW Government is funding $1 million for the completion of a feasibility study into the Lake Rowlands dam extension as part of its emergency response to the drought in regional NSW.

Member for Bathurst, Paul Toole, said preliminary studies will be completed by Central Tablelands Water to bring the project to the shovel ready stage.

“This will include details on a secure yield study, cost benefit analysis, engineering design, and a review of environmental factors,” Mr Toole said.

$200,000 FOR BLAYNEY FLOOD BASINS STUDY

Bathurst MP Paul Toole today welcomed new funding of $200,000 to Blayney Shire Council for local floodplain management.

Mr Toole said the grant, awarded under the 2019-20 Floodplain Management Program, will help Blayney Shire Council better understand and manage local flood levels, risk and exposure.

“I congratulate Blayney Shire Council on successfully securing this money to support their plans for the Blayney flood retarding basins study,” Mr Toole said.
