BELUBULA RIVER WALK TAKING SHAPE

THE big concrete pour in Blayney is on in earnest with construction well underway on the much-anticipated Belubula River walk.
Last year Blayney Shire Council received $310,052 in the first round of the NSW Government’s Stronger Country Communities Funding allocations to construct the 720 metre long, 2.5 metre wide path from Dakers Oval along Henry Street to the existing paths network at the school bus stop in Martin Street.

HELPING SAVE LINDLEGREEN BARN FOR GENERATIONS TO COME

IT was added to the State Heritage Register last year and now it’s receiving significant funding from the NSW Government to ensure that history will live on for generations to come.
The historic importance of Lindlegreen Barn at O’Connell continues to be recognised after Bathurst MP Paul Toole today announced two different Heritage Grants totalling $170,000 to save the ageing structure.

CONTRACT AWARDED FOR NEW BRIDGE AT CLARENCE

A new bridge across the main western rail line on Chifley Road is on the way with a contract awarded for construction of the bridge.
Minister for Regional Transport and Roads and Member for Bathurst Paul Toole said the new bridge at Clarence was part of a $95 million investment to upgrade the Great Western Highway and Bells Line of Road.
“A contract has been awarded to Quickway Constructions Pty Ltd to build the new bridge on Chifley Road to improve safety for all road users and also improve regional access,” Mr Toole said.

ICONIC ZIG ZAG RAILWAY RECEIVES HERITAGE GRANT OF $150,000

THE iconic Zig Zag Railway received further support from the NSW Government today with Bathurst MP Paul Toole announcing it would receive a $150,000 Heritage grant.
Funding will be used for the preservation of stonework at the iconic tourist attraction near Lithgow.
While the tunnels, viaducts, culverts and retaining walls have remained in remarkable condition, important repair and restoration work is needed to enable them to be retained in their original state and prevent further deteriorating.
