BOOST IN QUALITY TEACHING FOR BATHURST SCHOOLS

Member for Bathurst Paul Toole said that local schools and students would benefit from the NSW Government’s new Literacy and Numeracy Strategy 2017-2020.

Mr Toole said the $340 million investment in quality teaching by the NSW Government will help to ensure students have the essential literacy and numeracy skills they need to succeed at school and later in life.

“The skills of reading, writing and numeracy are crucial – particularly in the first few years of school. Everything a student achieves in school depends on a solid foundation in these skills,” Mr Toole said.

NEW FUND ANNOUNCED FOR REGIONAL NSW EVENTS

A new fund to support the creation of regional events and foster the development of existing community events has been announced by the NSW Government.

Member for Bathurst Paul Toole said registrations are now open for round one of the 2017 Incubator Event Fund for organisers of new and emerging regional events held between January and June 2017, are invited to submit applications for funding.

FREE TICKETS NOW AVAILABLE FOR BATHURST 2016 SENIORS CHRISTMAS CONCERT

Member for Bathurst Paul Toole today announced that free tickets for the 2016 Seniors Christmas Concerts in Bathurst are now available.

The Seniors Christmas Concert, themed ‘Next Stop….Christmas’, will be held at the Bathurst Memorial Entertainment Centre on Monday 21 November at 11:00am and 2:00pm. 

Mr Toole said that it is great that the NSW Government is bringing the free concerts to Bathurst giving locals the opportunity to enjoy the show and sing along to Christmas carols.

PRESERVING AND PROTECTING MUGII MURUM-BAN

Threatened species and unique geological formations in the Mugii Murum-ban State Conservation Area will be further protected with Member for Bathurst Paul Toole today announcing the addition of 274 hectares to the area.

“The transfer of this crown land to the national parks estate links Mugii Murum-ban State Conservation Area to Capertee National Park in the north and Gardens of Stone National Park in the South,” Mr Toole said.
