PRESERVING AND PROTECTING MUGII MURUM-BAN

Threatened species and unique geological formations in the Mugii Murum-ban State Conservation Area will be further protected with Member for Bathurst Paul Toole today announcing the addition of 274 hectares to the area.

“The transfer of this crown land to the national parks estate links Mugii Murum-ban State Conservation Area to Capertee National Park in the north and Gardens of Stone National Park in the South,” Mr Toole said.

LOCAL SPORT GRANTS PROGRAM OPEN

Member for Bathurst Paul Toole  is encouraging  local sporting clubs to apply for the NSW Government’s Local Sport Grant Program to improve facilities, infrastructure and sport access, to increase regular and on-going participation in sport and active recreation.

Mr Toole said, “Sport plays a crucial part in our day to day lives for health, fitness and bringing communities together. The Local Sport Grant Program provides funding for sports clubs right across NSW, assisting volunteer clubs improve facilities and participation levels.

FUNDING TO HELP COMBAT WEEDS IN BATHURST ELECTORATE

Member for Bathurst Paul Toole, has announced Central Tablelands Local Land Services (LLS) will receive $716,762 as part of the NSW Government’s $10 million Weed Action Program.

Mr Toole said the funding would ensure consistent and coordinated regional weed control planning and delivery, especially after a wetter than normal winter.

“Weeds often thrive after soaking rains and are a thorn in the side of our farmers. Weeds can have devastating impacts on the environment and agricultural productivity.

FUNDING RELIEF FOR ROADS AFFECTED BY FLOODING

Councils affected by flooding across the Bathurst Electorate will be able to immediately get on with the job of rebuilding their communities with the NSW Government providing $500,000 to fix local roads destroyed by floodwater.

Minister for Roads Maritime and Freight Duncan Gay said he had inspected roads across the councils impacted by the severe weather and repairing the council road network was a priority for many communities.
