BRIGHT FUTURE PREDICTED FOR BATHURST ELECTORATE

The Bathurst Electorate continues to reach its potential with the region predicted to attract around 12,000 more people over the next two decades, Member for Bathurst Paul Toole said today.

Mr Toole said that the State’s booming economy was making regional NSW a more attractive option for people.

“The economic leadership shown by the NSW Government makes our region more attractive for businesses, which is driving jobs and bringing people here,” Mr Toole said.

MILESTONE FOR RURAL MEDICAL SCHOOL IN BATHURST

A fantastic milestone has been reached for the Western Sydney University’s (WSU) Rural Medical School in Bathurst, with one of the program’s graduate students commencing qualified work right here at the Bathurst Base Hospital.

The School of Medicine’s rural program was established to give students the opportunity to live, work and train in rural and remote areas, with the hope that some (or all) of these students will choose to relocate from city centres following the completion of their studies to practice in our clinics and hospitals.

Fishing Clubs jump on board for Gone Fishing Day 2016

Member for Bathurst Paul Toole has announced local fishing events will be held in Lithgow  on Sunday 16th October as part of Australia’s first ever National Gone Fishing Day.

“It’s great to see our local recreational fishing clubs have jumped at the chance to run local Gone Fishing Day events in their communities,” Mr Toole said.

“I’m pleased to announce that members of the Wallerawang Central Acclimatisation Society (CAS) were successful in their application for funding and will receive $2,000 to help run their event.
