Funding Available for Grandparents Day Activities

Member for Bathurst Paul Toole today encouraged local organisations to celebrate the valuable contribution grandparents make in communities, by applying for funding available under the NSW Grandparents Day Community event grants program.

The NSW Government has allocated $100,000 in funding for community groups, volunteer organisations and local councils to host events on NSW Grandparents Day Sunday 30 October 2016.

Travel Subsidy Increases for 45 Apprentices and Trainees in the Bathurst region

Trainees and apprentices in the Bathurst Electorate will get a financial boost and more support to help complete their courses with the NSW Government today announcing substantial increases in subsidies towards overnight travel for off-the-job training.

Member for Bathurst Paul Toole said the Vocational Training Assistance Scheme’s (VTAS) overnight accommodation subsidy will double from $28 per night to $56 per night and the fuel subsidy will increase from 12c to 33c per kilometre.

Welcome to 16 Rural Medical Clinic Students

Minister for Bathurst Paul Toole MP welcomed 16 new students from Western Sydney University’s Rural Clinical School program who will undertake their studies for the next 12 months, alongside some of Bathurst’s best GP’s and our hospitals.

Mr Toole said this is an event he looks forward to every year, with the group of students being the sixth cohort of students to enter the program.

Community Grant to Honor Anzac Traditions in Trunkey Creek

Local Member for Bathurst Paul Toole and Minister for Veterans Affairs David Elliott announced the Trunkey Creek Progress Association will receive $1,190 in NSW Government funding as part of a proud commitment to honour Australia’s servicemen and women.

With assistance from the Community War Memorials Fund, a project will be undertaken to include names that were originally omitted on the existing war memorial, ensuring due respect is paid to those who made a contribution to the war.
