NSW GOVERNMENT PROVIDES $14.5 MILLION FOR SAFETY UPGRADES ALONG THE TABLELANDS WAY

Significant road pavement upgrades, wider shoulders and better drainage along a key freight and tourism route will improve road safety, reduce vehicle wear and tear and shorten travel times, thanks to NSW Government funding.

Member for Bathurst Paul Toole today announced $14.5 million from the Growing Local Economies fund to upgrade and widen sections of the Tablelands Way, which stretches across three Local Government Areas.

LOCAL JOBS TO CREATE A SAFER MITCHELL HIGHWAY THROUGH GUYONG

Around 95 jobs will be supported during work on major safety improvements along the Mitchell Highway at Guyong and East Guyong.

Member for Bathurst Paul Toole said motorists will benefit from safer journeys between Bathurst and Orange which involves installing a number of safety treatments on and alongside the road. 

“Road crash data collected in recent years has identified a 2.5 kilometre section of highway at Guyong and a 2.8 kilometre section of highway at East Guyong for these improvements to be carried out,” Mr Toole said.

CAFÉ ON CORPORATION: BIRTHDAY CELEBRATIONS FOR A SUCCESS STORY IN THE MAKING

Member for Bathurst Paul Toole has officially opened the latest addition to the Generocity Church’s Café on Corporation venture following a $50,000 grant from the NSW Government.

The initiative, which aims to create job opportunities for people living with disability, has been described as a success story in the making with the funding used to build an outdoor deck at the take away outlet in the local trade centre based at Corporation Avenue.

SAFETY WORK TO START ON THE GREAT WESTERN HIGHWAY AT WALANG

Motorists travelling between Lithgow and Bathurst are set to benefit from safety work to start next week, including widening the road shoulder on the Great Western Highway at Walang, around 20 kilometres east of Bathurst.

Member for Bathurst Paul Toole said $1 million in funding has been allocated as part of Saving Lives on Country Roads to widen the road shoulder and install safety barriers to provide safer journeys for motorists in the Central West.
