OBERON SHOWGROUND GOES SOLAR

SAVING on power bills is the aim of the latest initiative of the Oberon Show Society.

Thanks to NSW Government Community Building Partnership (CBP) funding of $11,000, solar panels have been installed on the roof of the “Oberon Centenary of Federation Pavilion – 2001”.

Member for Bathurst Paul Toole has been a great supported of the local show society and said its dedicated committee and band of volunteers always gave 100 per cent with the attitude of “the show must go on”.

AIR BEE-N-BEE FOR APIARISTS

A $530,000 online portal will help commercial beekeepers overcome the challenges of accessing land caused by bushfire and drought, by giving them a one-stop-shop for public site access, Minister for Agriculture Adam Marshall announced today.

Mr Marshall joined Member for Bathurst Paul Toole at the Beekeeper’s Inn in the State’s Central West, and said the new BPASS Portal would also allow apiarists to apply and pay for their permits and licenses online for the first time.

$3.25 MILLION ‘HOOKED’ FOR COMMUNITY FISHING PROJECTS

Fishers’ licence fees have been put to work, with more than $3.2 million reinvested into projects to further the State’s recreational fishing industry through new facilities, more fish stocking, research, and education.

Minister for Agriculture Adam Marshall was at Lake Wallace near Lithgow today to announce that $53,000 has been made available for an accessible fishing platform among 37 local projects to receive funding through the NSW Recreational Fishing Trust grants.

ICONIC BRIDLE TRACK MOVES A STEP CLOSER TO REOPENING

Bathurst Regional Council has now compulsory acquired properties around Monaghans Bluff allowing for work to reopen the Bridle Track to proceed.

This will once again allow traffic to flow from Bathurst to Hill End and return.

For years the Bridle Track linking Bathurst and Hill End has been closed to traffic due to rock slides, which has made the road impassable at Monaghans Bluff.

Bathurst Regional Council has now acquired land from three property landowners to be able to divert traffic around the Bluff.
