ROAD SAFETY UPGRADES FOR O’CONNELL ROAD NEAR OBERON SET TO START

Bathurst MP Paul Toole today announced the start of work to improve safety on a section of O’Connell Road, just north of Oberon.
“The NSW Government has provided $200,000 under the Saving Lives on Country Roads program to improve safety on O’Connell Road between Oberon and Bathurst,” Mr Toole said.
“In the five years to 2017, there were five serious crashes which involved a vehicle leaving the road at one of the two curves along the 1.5 kilometre section of road.

$2 MILLION FOR EMERGENCY DROUGHT INITIATIVES IN BATHURST

Bathurst Regional Council is set to receive $2 million from the NSW Government to help it develop critical water initiatives during the worst drought on record.
This latest drought funding initiative follows the announcement earlier this month of the successful tender to undertake the $10 million upgrade to shore up the safety of the ageing Winburndale Dam wall which was built in 1930.
Bathurst MP Paul Toole announced the funding this morning (Monday, 26th August) as part of $65 million in emergency critical drought initiatives across the state.

$2.1 MILLION SAFETY UPGRADE FOR GREAT WESTERN HIGHWAY AT MEADOW FLAT

Minister for Regional Transport and Roads and Member for Bathurst Paul Toole has announced a new safety upgrade to the intersection of the Great Western Highway and Range Road at Meadow Flat.
Mr Toole said the NSW Government had committed $2.1 million to making the intersection safer and more efficient for motorists.
“This section of the Great Western Highway is a key route for residents, commuters and visitors alike as it links the communities of Bathurst, Lithgow and Portland,” Mr Toole said.

Uralba Aged-Care looks to the future with launch of Solar array.

Uralba has installed a new 37kW solar system on its north facing roofs which which will provide about one third of its electricity usage. This is but one of a number of steps that Uralba is taking to ensure a secure future for the facility, its residents, and the community.
The solar facility and the new Uralba administration building – a restoration of the old maternity wing of the old Carcoar Hospital, was officially opened by Paul Toole MP.
