SHOWTIME IS SET TO MAKE A RETURN IN 2021

Showtime is set to make a return in early 2021 with the NSW Government today announcing COVID safe guidelines that will allow locals and visitors to once again attend country shows.

SAFETY IMPROVEMENTS FOR THE GREAT WESTERN HIGHWAY AT GLANMIRE

Work will start this week on the Great Western Highway at Glanmire, east of Bathurst, to widen the road and install a number of specific safety treatments to help better protect all road users.

NSW Minister for Regional Transport and Roads Paul Toole said the NSW Government has provided $3.5 million under the Saving Lives on Country Roads initiative to widen a 2.2 kilometre section of road and install barriers on the centreline and on the roadside.

HERITAGE RAIL IS BACK ON TRACK

Member for Bathurst Paul Toole is urging the local community to visit Oberon this weekend for a chance to take a look back in time to the days of early rail in the district.

Mr Toole said the heritage-listed Oberon Tarana Heritage Railway is holding an open day on Saturday from 10am until 2pm to show off the results of major upgrades as part of a plan to unlock the tourism potential that historic rail offers the region.

BATHURST COURTHOUSE RESTORATION SET IN STONE

One of NSW’s most historic courthouses will have a multi-million dollar restoration preserving the building’s rich heritage and providing much needed jobs and investment into the region.

Attorney General Mark Speakman said the restoration will breathe new life into a court complex that’s served Bathurst for 140 years.

“Bathurst Courthouse is one of the most beautiful public buildings in NSW and I’m thrilled that the NSW Government is committing to this major project,” Mr Speakman said.
