WELCOME CLARE! A SWEET SAFETY BOOST FOR BATHURST PUBLIC SCHOOL

Some of Bathurst’s youngest road users will be a whole lot safer from today with a School Crossing Supervisor starting at Bathurst Public School.

Minister for Regional Transport and Roads and Member for Bathurst Paul Toole welcomed Clare Nelson to her new role, presenting her with the crossing bat and flags which define the children’s crossing.

“Lollipop people’, as they are affectionately known, play an important role in ensuring safe travel to and from school for some of our most vulnerable road users,” Mr Toole said.

SUPPORT FOR UPGRADES TO CARCOAR SCHOOL OF ARTS HALL

The School of Arts Hall at Carcoar is set for major upgrades thanks to support from the NSW Government.

Bathurst MP Paul Toole today announced funding of $167,321 toward repair of the hall’s roof and brickwork as well as water damage to help restore and conserve the building for future generations of community use.

He said the Carcoar School of Arts Hall is on the State Heritage Register and that this investment is part of the $16.5 million Crown Reserves Improvement Fund to upgrade reserves and facilities on Crown lands in regional communities doing it tough.

RYDAL SHOWGROUND WOOL PAVILION UPGRADE

The wool pavilion at Rydal Showground will undergo a major upgrade thanks to funding from the NSW Government.

Bathurst MP Paul Toole today announced a grant of $62,112 for the works.

He said the investment is part of the $16.5 million Crown Reserves Improvement Fund to upgrade reserves and facilities on Crown lands in regional communities doing it tough.

GREAT NEWS FOR FIXING COUNTRY ROADS IN THE OBERON REGION

Member for Bathurst Paul Toole MP and mayor of Oberon, Kathy Sajowitz visited the newly improved Meadows and Hazelgrove Roads, that has now been completed.

The project was funded through the Fixing Country Roads program with the aim of increasing manoeuvrability of logging trucks in the area.

The total cost of the upgrades was $1.5 million with another $200,000 coming from industry funding and $50,000 from council.
