OVER $57 MILLION FOR WATER INFRASTRUCTURE IN THE CENTRAL WEST

The NSW Government has invested almost $57 million to complete critical water infrastructure projects for three communities in the Central West, as part of its emergency response to drought in regional NSW.
Minister for Water, Property and Housing Melinda Pavey said the three water security projects in Orange, Bathurst and Condobolin will receive an additional $33 million – building on the $24.5 million announced in 2019.

BUILDING A BETTER BUS NETWORK FOR BATHURST

Bathurst community members are invited to have their say on how to improve the local bus network.

Minister for Regional Transport and Roads and Member for Bathurst Paul Toole said submissions were being sought on how the current bus network is performing and how to improve accessibility and connectivity in the region as part of the 16 Regional Cities program.

“Traditionally transport planners have developed bus routes through population centres with linkages into the CBD and local train station,” Mr Toole said.

CLUB EXPANSION TO CATER FOR YOUTH WORKSHOPS

Members of the Bathurst Stamp, Coin, Collectables and Lapidary Club take great delight in passing on their wealth of knowledge to the youth of the region.

They are well-known for running school holiday workshops and their involvement in the community.

However, following a significant increase in club membership in recent times, club members are finding they have outgrown the space needed at their Eglinton clubrooms.

Well, that’s about to take a change for the better thanks to an announcement today by Bathurst MP Paul Toole.

WORK FORGING AHEAD ON OBERON’S NEW INDOOR FITNESS CENTRE

An investment of $500,000 by the NSW Government is set to improve the quality of life of local Oberon residents.

Last year Bathurst MP Paul Toole announced the government would provide $500,000 to Oberon Council to see an indoor fitness centre established in the town.

Mr Toole said the initiative was now forging ahead with construction well underway and is being made possible thanks to funding through the government’s Stronger Country Communities Fund (SCCF).
