ICC T20 WORLD CUP CRICKET LEGACY FUND DELIVERS GREAT NEWS FOR THE SPORT IN BLAYNEY

Blayney Shire Council has been successful in securing a grant from Round 2 of the NSW ICC T20 World Cup 2020 Cricket Legacy Fund.

Round 2 saw more than $2 million available for new facilities and programs to support the growth of cricket participation.

This includes a grant of $18,914 which will allow Blayney Shire Council to construct a synthetic turf wicket at Dakers Oval to further enhance the sport in the district.

CONSTRUCTION BEGINS ON THE NEW CENTRAL WEST EQUESTRIAN AND LIVESTOCK CENTRE

Construction of the Central West Equestrian and Livestock Centre at Blayney Showground has begun.

Bathurst MP Paul Toole joined Blayney Shire Council Mayor Scott Ferguson to mark the occasion by turning the first sod on the project.

NSW Government has been a major supporter of the initiative after delivering $1.8 million to council to ensure it becomes a reality.

The $1 million construction of the arena structure is the largest singular component of the $2.2 million project which is expected to be completed in time for the 2020 Blayney Show.

ZIG ZAG EXHIBITION TO OPEN AT GANG GANG GALLERY

THE Zig Zag Steam Exhibition and Art Prize has been launched at Lithgow’s Gang Gang Gallery on October 5.
Bathurst MP Paul Toole officially opened the event at 2.30pm.
The exhibition and art prize is a celebration of the first steam train to traverse the Great Zig Zag Railway and arrive in Bowenfels.
Artists residing in NSW were invited to enter up to three artworks for consideration in the exhibition with a prize of $1500 awarded to the most outstanding entry along with a $500 People’s Choice Award.

STATE-OF-THE-ART FACILITIES FOR LITHGOW YOUNGSTERS

More pre-schoolers in Lithgow will have access to state-of-the-art early childhood learning facilities and specialised educational programs, thanks to the NSW Government’s Quality Learning Environments program.
Bathurst MP Paul Toole today announced the following preschools and not-for-profit long day care centres in Lithgow will receive grants of up to $10,000:
 Galloping Gumnut Mobile Children’s Services ($9,965)
 Gowrie NSW Lithgow ($10,000)
