ST PHIL’S TAKES LEARNING TO THE GREAT OUTDOORS

Taking learning outside has reached new heights at St Philomena’s Primary School, with the newest addition of an ‘Outdoor Learning Area’ thanks to $22,000 from the NSW Government’s Community Building Partnership (CBP) program.
Member for Bathurst Paul Toole MP said it was great to see the highly anticipated project come to fruition, visiting the school this week to catch up on progress.

ICONIC ZIG ZAG RAILWAY RECEIVES HERITAGE GRANT OF $150,000

THE iconic Zig Zag Railway received further support from the NSW Government today with Bathurst MP Paul Toole announcing it would receive a $150,000 Heritage grant.
Funding will be used for the preservation of stonework at the iconic tourist attraction near Lithgow.
While the tunnels, viaducts, culverts and retaining walls have remained in remarkable condition, important repair and restoration work is needed to enable them to be retained in their original state and prevent further deteriorating.

BETTER HOMES AND GARDENS VISITS CENTRAL WEST

The best of the Central West will be on show with Better Homes and Gardens having wrapped up filming in the region as part of an initiative to promote regional NSW’s top tourism destinations.
Member for Bathurst Paul Toole said the segment would air on May 3 at 7pm, and would showcase the Central West’s great local offerings.
“Better Homes and Garden’s cooking presenter ‘Fast’ Ed Halmagyi travelled through Oberon and Carcoar last week, meeting with local producers to pick up key ingredients to cook a signature dish,” Mr Toole said.

BOOST FOR HENBURY SPORT & RECREATION CLUB

The lush, green fairways of the golf course at the Henbury Sport and Recreation Club have never been looking better thanks to the support of Bathurst MP Paul Toole.
Mr Toole recently presented the club with a cheque for $20,000 from the NSW Government for the purchase of a new fairways mower to replace their old, worn out model.
The good news is the club has now purchased that mower from a Lithgow-based business and it’s made a world of difference to the volunteers that help maintain the course.
