TACKLING HOUSING AFFORDABILITY IN LITHGOW

Twelve brand new homes will be built in Lithgow as part of a NSW Government social and affordable housing building blitz across the Central West.

Minister for Families, Communities and Disability Services Gareth Ward said Housing Plus would deliver the new properties through the NSW Government’s Social and Affordable Housing Fund (SAHF) program.

“These new homes are creating a pipeline of new housing, which will support some of the community’s most disadvantaged people,” Mr Ward said.

KELSO TO RAGLAN UPGRADE SET TO START

More than 100 local jobs will be supported through the Kelso to Raglan upgrade on the Great Western Highway, with early works set to begin next week.

Minister for Regional Transport and Roads Paul Toole said the $45 million project will deliver safer, faster and more reliable journeys through the Central West.

“About 10,000 vehicles use the Great Western Highway between Kelso and Raglan every day and during big events like the Bathurst 1000 and peak holiday times, it’s even busier,” Mr Toole said.

MILLIONS FOR SHOWGROUND UPGRADES AT BATHURST, SOFALA AND RYLSTONE

Local showgrounds are the lifeblood of many rural communities and it’s great to see the NSW Government supporting them through its COVID-19 stimulus program.

The historic pavilions at the heritage-listed Bathurst Showground are set for major restoration works thanks to a grant of $2.85 million.

This will allow five of the pavilions, the oldest dating back to 1879, to be repaired and upgraded as well as the replacement of internal and boundary fences and gates.
