NATIONAL SKILLS WEEK : TIME TO THANK A TRADIE

Member for Bathurst Paul Toole encourages the local community to acknowledge the talents, skills and contributions of local tradespeople with ‘Thank a Tradie’ during 2020 National Skills Week.

In the past five years, TAFE NSW has trained 13,000 electricians, 12,000 carpenters, 7,000 plumbers and 4,500 car mechanics with the hands-on practical skills needed to succeed in their chosen industries and fill the demands for the community. The NSW Government addressing these skill requirements by providing employers with access to fee-free traineeship and apprenticeship training.

ONGOING SUPPORT FOR BATHURST WINTER FESTIVAL

The Bathurst Winter Festival is here to stay.

Although special attractions organised by Bathurst Regional Council for the 2020 event have had to be curtailed because of COVID-19, the future of the initiative has never been brighter.

Member for Bathurst Paul Toole knows only too well the economic and social benefits the Winter Festival brings to the region.

He ensured the NSW Government has supported the big event by supporting it with funding of $40,000 in 2018/19.

MY COMMUNITY PROJECT LOOKING GOOD AT BATHURST PUBLIC SCHOOL

STAFF and students at Bathurst Public School are already making use of a special green space that has been created thanks to the NSW Government’s My Community Project program.

Member for Bathurst Paul Toole visited the school to check on progress of the initiative which he says couldn’t be looking better.

The school got the nod to proceed with its visionary Educational App-etite project when it won a $198,172 grant after the general public were asked to vote on their favourite ideas from a list of nominated projects.

COOKING UP A STORM AT LITHGOW GOLF CLUB

The NSW Government is continuing its support for Lithgow Golf Club with funding being made available to upgrade its kitchen facilities.

Bathurst MP Paul Toole has announced a grant of $89,800 from the Government’s Stronger Country Communities Fund (SCCF) for the project.

The makeover will ensure the club’s kitchen area meets the Australian Food Standard Code for premises and equipment.
