MODULAR CELLS MEET HISTORIC PRISON AT BATHURST

The modern fence-line of the new 220-bed maximum-security area of Bathurst Correctional Centre is about to meet the historic walls of the 19th century prison as the expansion project reaches its final months of construction.
Minister for Corrections Anthony Roberts and Member for Bathurst Paul Toole toured the site to see the final works on the Bathurst project, which is part of the NSW Government’s $3.8 billion investment in safer prisons.

NEW DIGITAL SCOREBOARD OFFICIALLY OPENED

Bathurst MP Paul Toole has officially opened the new digital scoreboard at the home ground of the Oberon Tigers Rugby League Club on Lowes Mount Road.

Players, fans and officials of the mighty Tigers’ have welcomed the improvements to the club’s headquarters which also includes a communications room upgrade.

They have thanked Bathurst MP Paul Toole for helping make the initiative become a reality after he secured a Stronger Country Communities Fund grant of $94,411 for the improvements.

OFFICIAL OPENING: OBERON SKATE PARK

The new Oberon Skate Park officially opened on Saturday September 28th, with a horde of keen local youngsters descending on the new $530,000 facility at The Common.
Made possible thanks to a Stronger Country Communities grant from the NSW Government, a day’s school holiday activities was organised at the venue to mark the occasion and features Blunt Sk8 Park Tours who staged exhibitions and clinics.
Bathurst MP Paul Toole cut the ribbon to mark the official opening of the skate park at 11.30am, followed by a free community barbecue at noon.

BATHURST BULLET 2.0 SERVICE MAKES DEBUT

Excitement has peaked at the debut of the new Bathurst Bullet 2.0 daily return rail service to Sydney.
The inaugural journey of the new service set off from Bathurst Railway Station on Monday September 16th at 7.35am and for the first time, and included stops at both Tarana and Rydal.
Great fanfare greeted the train when it pulled into Tarana Station at 8.07am, with a band playing and a community breakfast organised to mark the occasion.
