BUSHFIRE CLEAN-UP STEAMS AHEAD AT ZIG ZAG RAILWAY

Residents and businesses of Lithgow will welcome back visitors sooner and are on track for recovery, with debris now safely cleared from historic attraction, the Zig Zag Railway, thanks to the NSW Government funded bushfire clean-up program.
The NSW government’s support has been welcomed by locals who have been working to restore the attraction to its former glory, repairing significant infrastructure damage caused by the 2013 and 2019 bushfires.

WORK STEAMING AHEAD ON MITCHELL HIGHWAY BETWEEN BATHURST AND ORANGE

Work along the Mitchell Highway between Bathurst and Orange is driving safer journeys and supporting up to 200 jobs.

Minister for Regional Transport and Roads and Member for Bathurst Paul Toole said the NSW Government has provided $50 million over five years under the Saving Lives on Country Roads program to upgrade a 50 kilometre section of the Mitchell Highway to make it safer for motorists.

“The Mitchell Highway is a vital link between Bathurst and Orange for visitors, residents and the freight industry, carrying around 10,000 vehicles a day,” Mr Toole said.

COMMUNITY PRE-SCHOOL BUSHFIRE GRANTS

Pre-schools in bushfire impacted areas of the Bathurst Electorate will benefit from a one-off payment to provide fee relief and help with the recovery from this summer’s devastating fires.
Bathurst MP Paul Toole said pre-schools are crucial to communities, bringing them together and allowing parents to rebuild while their children are educated and cared for.

Expansion of Millthorpe Skate Park

Blayney Shire Council has been successful in receiving a grant to expand the Redmond Oval Skate Park for $180,000. The NSW Government Stronger Country Communities Program Round 3 funding will be used to construct a Junior level Skate Park.

The Redmond Oval precinct is a very well used and popular location for sporting events and recreational activities by young and old and this project is part of Redmond Oval Master Plan.
