ANYONE FOR CRICKET? TARANA VILLAGE GREEN UPGRADE PAVES WAY FOR BAT AND BALL

The village green at Tarana is set for a make-over thanks to support from the NSW Government’s Community Building Partnership (CBP) Fund.

Bathurst MP Paul Toole today announced a grant of $8800 to the Tarana Valley Community Group (TVCG) Inc for a project aimed at improving the quality of life of locals and visitors alike.

He said TVCG secretary Annie Cook and her team had been a vocal campaigner for the initiative for several years.

“The funding will allow the Tarana Oval’s playing field to be levelled and reseeded across a 100 metre diameter whilst also allowing for a synthetic grass covered concrete cricket wicket to be established in the middle of the ground,” Mr Toole said.

“These improvements means the ground will not only be able to be used for cricket matches in the summer, but also for other recreational activities and events for years to come.”

The NSW Community Building Partnership program awards grants for community infrastructure projects.

These are aimed at initiatives that deliver positive social, environmental and recreational outcomes while also promoting community participation, inclusion and cohesion.
