BETTER ACCESS FOR MOTORSPORT PARK

Member for Bathurst Paul Toole today announced $50,000 in funding the Yvonne Martyn Motorsport Park at Portland.

The money will fund an upgrade to the access road that currently services the facility.

Mr Toole said: "The Park is a unique motorsport/driver training complex in the community, providing driver training for children aged 12 years upwards, with the Confederation of Australian Motorsport (CAMS) Ignition Program. The improvements will include the upgrade, repair and seal of the access road at Yvonne Martyn Motorsport Park."

Lithgow District Car Club President, Les Taylor, said: "The funding is fantastic. The road is in a bad way and this funding will fix that. The Park also provides a venue for Hill climbing, Motorkhana, Rallysprint and Khanacross events, which draws competitors from all over NSW; so it’s important to maintain the infrastructure for visiting competitors", he said.
